Bijvoorbeeld, Afrika AND geschiedenis zou een resultaat geven dat beide woorden bevat. Voor Congo OR Zaïre echter, tellen de resultaten met beide of één van de woorden.

Exacte overeenkomsten kunnen gezocht worden door zoektermen tussen dubbele aanhalingstekens te plaatsen.

Bijvoorbeeld, "Leopold II" zou een resultaat geven van de exacte woordcombinatie.

Haakjes kunnen gebruikt worden om nog meer controle over de resultaten te krijgen.
